Historic Minneapolis Sign Rehabilitation Project-Gold Medal Flour
TMI Coatings completed an historic sign rehabilitation project for the Minneapolis Community Development Agency. The Gold Medal Flour Signs on the roof of the Washburn Crosby Mill Complex had deteriorated due to age. The scope of work included steel and miscellaneous repairs to the frame supports for the signs; patching, cleaning, and painting the back of letters, and replacing the connectors of the letters to the structural steel. TMI Coatings provided full containment during sandblasting operations due to the presence of lead-based paint. After project completion, the refurbished Gold Medal Flour signs were lit for the first time in more than 30 years at a relighting ceremony.
