| High baked phenolic coating is a tank lining for solvents, acids, hot water and food products. It is used as a protective coating for tanks, ducts, large-diameter piping, etc. Baked phenolic meets the requirements of the U.S. Federal Register, Food and Drug Regulations, and United States Department of Agriculture.
TMI Coatings has completed numerous baked phenolic tank lining projects over the years. We have engineered this system on numerous occasions for customers because of its versatility.
To prepare the surface it is necessary to degrease the steel, grind the welds, sandblast to white metal and apply 3 or more coats. The coating is baked between coats and final baked between 375° F and 400° F metal temperature. TMI Coatings has a 6,000,000 BTU custom-designed and fabricated heater for baking phenolic linings. Great care must be taken to ensure even temperature on floor and ceiling as over-heating between coats will cause loss of adhesion.
Baked phenolic is one of the oldest and most reliable coatings available. It resists 98% sulfuric acid, transmission fluid, gasoline, formaldehyde, ferric chloride, and numerous other chemical exposures. |
