TMI FIBERLIFE Industrial Lining

Recently, more and more industrial plants have turned to "FRP" (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) construction as the most economical solution to their corrosion problems. There are outstanding advantages of reinforced plastics.

FRP systems have excellent resistance to acids and alkalis, at both room and elevated temperatures. The fiberglass mat adds mechanical strength and durability. There is little or no maintenance required after installation; if the need should arise for repair, it can be accomplished quickly, saving valuable shutdown time.

TMI Coatings has completed FRP lining on the interior of many steel tanks, large diameter pipes and ducts, concrete holding pits, containment dikes, trenches, sumps, and floors. FRP is tough and durable and suitable for industrial use.

The resins used in FRP construction (polyester, vinyl ester, and epoxy systems) can be formulated for FDA/USDA compliance and approved for repeated use in contact with food.

TMI FIBERLIFE is a heavy-duty, thick-film, fiber-reinforced laminate consisting of chemical resistant resin and fiberglass mat reinforcement. This lining is resistant to both acids and alkalis at room and elevated temperatures. FIBERLIFE protects concrete from deteriorating and steel from corrosion. Normally applied at 60 mils (1/16") thick or 125 mils (1/8") thick for optimum protection.

Styrene odor during application and no odor after application and full cure.
Standard Colors:
Gray, tan and red. Other colors available by special order.
Thickness:
Can be applied at 60 mils or up to 1/4" for heavy-duty use.
Limitations:
Substrate and ambient temperature must be higher than 50° F during installation and curing period.

Surface Preparation:
New concrete must be cured a minimum of 28 days (under warm temperature and low humidity). Concrete should be lightly steel trowelled to obtain a level surface. Do not use any sealers or curing compounds. The concrete must be dry, clean, and free of all contaminates and dirt. Roughening of concrete by mechanical means such as sanding, grinding, shotblasting or scarifying must be completed for adhesion to concrete substrate.
Curing Time:
8-10 hours for foot traffic, 24 hours for heavier service and chemical spillage; full cure at 7 days at 70° F.
