Industrial Flooring for Food Industry
Frequent wash downs with harsh chemicals and hot water are a common occurrence in food plants.
Worn, eroded concrete and slips and falls become a safety concern. USDA/AIB inspections can force a Plant
Manager to take remedial action. A proactive approach to repairing and coating food plant floors can keep
the floors clean and safe.
TMI Coatings is experienced at installing a wide variety of industrial and commercial flooring
and coatings, ranging from thin-film (3-5 mils) coatings for dust control of concrete up to 1/4" thick
concrete flooring toppings for heavy industrial use.
TMI CHEM-RESIST is a low odor, 100% solids epoxy floor coating for flooring applications
subjected to heavy traffic, chemicals, areas requiring a safety non-skid surface, etc.
This coating is extremely durable, sanitary and suitable for incidental food contact.
100% solids means no solvents are used during mixing and therefore no unpleasant odors
are emitted during application. TMI CHEM-RESIST epoxy flooring will protect your
concrete floor from everyday wear-and-tear. The glossy, tile-like finish is easy to
clean and sanitize. TMI 100% solids epoxy flooring is suitable for a variety of acids
and alkalis, solvents, oils and harsh detergents.
Benefits include:
- A non-porous surface that does not support bacterial growth and is USDA approved for use in the food environments.
- No odor; will not affect taste of food during installation and cure time.
- Minimizes concrete dusting allowing easier cleanup.
- High light reflectivity.
Cementitious urethane toppings are commonly used on food plant floors. This newer technology topping can
be applied immediately over a new concrete slab, meets USDA standards, has superior adhesion
properties, and is easy to maintain. At 1/4" thick, cementitious urethanes are trowel-applied to
provide a tough and durable floor topping for food processing, cook and chill areas, wash areas
and chemical processing. A non-skid finish texture improves safety. Cementitious urethane topping
cure in hours.
