Two neutralization basins, each 50' diameter x 25' deep, were experiencing deterioration of the concrete. The basins were severely deteriorating at the water line, an area the circumference of the basin approximately 7' high. TMI removed all loose and deteriorated concrete and repaired the basins with quick set mortar to make the surface flush with the surrounding areas. The basins were sandblasted to remove all contamination, including dirt, laitance, etc

TMI then installed vinyl ester resin and embedded fiberglass mat into the wet resin, installing a double laminate where the concrete deterioration had been the most severe. Finally, additional resin was applied as necessary to complete the chemical resistant fiberglass system.

The TMI FIBERLIFE tank liner has excellent chemical resistance to both acids and alkalis at room and elevated temperatures. Many environmentally conscious customers line their containment areas with protective coatings to protect against ground contamination.
